Hitched, Home, and Happy.
Working in a place of amazing dedication and unflagging optimism. An incredible atmosphere that provides a persistent push to discover and bring my very best to bear in every moment of every day. It is so well-aligned with my core values, our home focus, and my studies, that I keep giggling from the joy of it all. Challenging and infinitely rewarding. There's an element of the surreal, as well, when I hear about something to which we are integral on All Things Considered, or when I'm editing something that's next destination is Congress. But those things are also incredibly grounding. They make me feel how much each choice matters.
All of this occurs against a stunning backdrop of natural beauty and opportunity. Hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing are part of the vernacular, something to do at lunch, not just a vacation plan. People call in to say they'll be late on account of snow ... because they are going skiing. During the warm months, our home soundscape includes loons. And it's all much more wonderful and horrible than any romanticized depiction can provide. It's a mainline connection to the reality that we are not separate from nature. Perfect.
I've got two dogs: a 13" beagle, Gus, and a tri-colored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Trub. If you think you can guess which one's a Super Seekrit Princess, and you guessed Gus, you're right. Doc has two cats. I can't say as much about them. They hide from the dogs and I'm not a cat person. Don't dislike them. Just don't "get" them. I'm simply not evolved enough.
I'm into flowers. For their healing essences. A lot.
